Employees have shifts which include working in the office as well as giving tours that total approximately 4-12 hours each week, based on the student’s availability. An employee’s first semester on staff is spent in shadowing and training. Employees are put on the permanent schedule during their second semester on staff. Job Summary The University of Kentucky Visitor Center is a branch of the Office of Undergraduate Admission in which employees are responsible for sharing authentic experiences with over 30,000 prospective students and guests of the university each year. Visitor Center employees have a wide range of duties which include, but are not limited to, serving as campus tour guides as well as student recruiters at university events. Staff members also assist with day-to-day operations at the Visitor Center, including phone and email inquiries, campus visit registration, greeting university guests, and other duties as assigned.
