Addressing health disparities and inequities that contribute to chronic disease development is a critical national priority, especially in Hispanic persons who suffer from extensive health disparities and often are characterized by earlier and worse chronic disease progression. UTEP is a focal point for education and biomedical research for Hispanics living on the US-Mexico border and has been intentional in supporting Hispanic Health Disparities research initiatives. UTEP is poised to become a national leader in this critical area of biomedical research by establishing an advanced health database. Assistant Professor - Wildlife Biologist

Assistant Professor in Transportation Engineering The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Transportation Engineering at the rank of assistant professor to start in the Fall 2025 semester. The creation of this position is motivated by the need to strengthen our capability in transportation research and education in the Department. The successful candidate is expected to: (1) contribute to the Department's undergraduate (BS) and graduate (MS and PhD) programs; (2) develop a sustainable, nationally recognized, and externally funded research program; (3) participate in research with colleagues within and outside the Department; and (4) mentor students in their education, research, and professional development consistent with the missions of the Department, the College, and the University. Job Requirements: Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering or a closely related field. Candidates should demonstrate teaching and research capabilities in at least one of the following areas that complement the existing faculty members' expertise: transportation data analytics, travel demand analysis, transportation logistics, smart cities, connected and automated vehicles, and/or highway-vehicle safety. Professional registration or eligibility to become a P.E. in the State of Texas is highly desirable. Additional Information: Hiring decisions are based on budget approval. Assistant Professor in Legal Psychology The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Department of Psychology invites applications for a position of Assistant Professor, tenure-track, in our growing, nationally recognized <a href="https://apptrkr.com/get_redirect.php?id=5685268&amp;targetURL=https://www.utep.edu/liberalarts/psychology/research/legal-psychology/" target="_blank">Legal Psychology</a> program. We welcome applications from scholars whose research is at the intersection of law and psychology, broadly defined. Faculty have established fruitful collaborations with community partners, including multiple criminal and juvenile justice agencies, and UTEP's location provides unique opportunities for research involving immigration and multiculturalism. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. The anticipated appointment date is fall 2025. Job Requirements: A Ph.D. in Psychology by the time of appointment; published research; potential to attract external funding; and the ability to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
