Shift

The Study’s Peer Tutoring Program, part of Transformative Learning (TL), offers services Monday-Thursday 2pm – 10pm and Sundays 4pm-8pm. Student employees may have shifts during these times as well as occasional additional weekday and/or weekend hours. Student employees will submit their availability prior to the start of the term.



Training is required for all TL undergraduate student employee positions and is typically held a few days prior to the start of the academic term.



Job Summary

Transformative Learning (TL), housed in the Office of Student Success, is UK’s centralized learning center and strives to create opportunities for student success through academic support initiatives. TL serves the campus community through three pillar program areas: Academic Preparation & Achievement (APA), Integrated Success Coaching (ISC), and Peer Supported Learning (PSL). As a member of the TL team, undergraduate student employees will serve as peer leaders who contribute to TL’s mission of creating opportunities for student success through academic support initiatives and work to foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.



TL employs undergraduate students in a variety of positions, and is currently seeking applicants for the following position(s):
  • The Study Peer Tutors provide drop-in academic support for undergraduate students enrolled in many 100 & 200 level math, science, and business courses. Peer Tutors assist small groups of students in fully understanding concepts, completing assignments, studying for exams, and honing their study skills. Peer Tutors are responsible for providing guidance through course content and support students in developing as independent learners.
