Job Summary

Prevention, Outreach, and Wellness Education Resources (POWER) is seeking a Prevention Specialist – Mental Health, Stress Reduction, and Collegiate Recovery Community. Leveraging best practices in prevention, this position will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive mental health programs and services designed to enhance student well-being. This role will focus on delivering services such as mindfulness, stress reduction, suicide prevention, health and wellness coaching, and facilitating small group sessions. Additionally, it will support the initiatives of the Collegiate Recovery Community. Key responsibilities will include orchestrating educational programs, presentations, monthly awareness events, workshops, and trainings. The incumbent will also supervise the STEPS Collegiate Recovery Coordinator and play a pivotal role in cultivating a campus culture that supports recovery and mental well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of evidence-based well-being supports and harm reduction strategies, coupled with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong initiative and outstanding public speaking skills are also essential for this role.
