Location: Remote with requirement to travel for business needs
Overview:
Manage all financial aspects related to assigned brands. Partner with the VP/GM and Brand Marketing Team to provide actionable business analytics and fact-based recommendations that will assist in delivering against the stated objectives of both the brand portfolio and Hain US as a whole. Multitasking and the ability to work with all levels of cross-functional business team members in a high-speed environment are essential. Position reports directly to the SVP Sales & Marketing Finance with a dotted line to the VP/GM of the Business Team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as a co-pilot and business partner to the brand marketing business team through the following:
- Serve as the key contact and financial leader for the VP/GM communicating the key financial and business drivers of the various brands
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the business drivers across the full P&L for the brand team and cross-functional partners (volume/sales, trade, COGS, marketing, SG&A)
- Lead the development of the monthly estimates and quarterly forecasts providing specific, actionable and forward-looking commentary on the various changes as well as guidance on potential risk and opportunity (R&O) items
- Play an active role the monthly business reviews and lead the financial discussions
- Lead the development of the annual operating plan and strategic plan
- Create comprehensive pro forma financials for new product innovation, customer and competitive analysis for assigned brands
- Ensure forecast accuracy through being an active partner/coach in monthly consensus meeting on volume, trade, and advertising and promotional/marketing spending
- Constructively challenge the brand marketing and cross-functional business team while offering alternative recommendations on key business decisions
- Provide formal and informal training on financial concepts and systems to finance and cross-functional business team members
- Share technical and process advice to brand team and cross-functional business partners
- Provide coaching and development for direct report
- Participate/lead various finance-wide projects – projects will vary depending on business needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field required – MBA/CPA preferred
- 6-10 years of work experience in financial analysis and data management with 4+ years of financial management experience
- Consumer packaged goods industry experience and strong understanding of Grocery, Natural and Alternate Customer processes and procedures preferred
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment
- History of a positive attitude; proactive and driven with intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn
- Strength of character; must by tough-minded and able to deal with change and have the courage to positively challenge the status quo
- Strong command and presence; ability to interact with all levels of management
- Very strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical and financial problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to be an effective leader and valued business partner
- Exceptional PC skills required with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- IRI, Nielsen and/or SPINS experience preferred
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion Essbase, Business Objects, and Prism preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
- $122,000 -$150,000 (commensurate with experience and location)
