Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Lead MBA and MS data analyst.  Technology specialist. Primary Symplicity software contact. The Data & Technology Manager reports to the Assistant Dean of the Benet Career Management Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Tracking/Integrity (60%)

Statistical Analyst accountable for integrity of employment data submitted to journals/organizations for use in developing business school rankings. Liaison with Admissions and Registrar¿s office. 

Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment and initiative:

  • Track and compile comprehensive individual employment data (internship and full time) for external rankings for all full time MBA and MS programs.  Ranking outlets include but are not limited to:
    • BusinessWeek
    • US News
    • Forbes
    • AACSB
    • Financial Times
    • Princeton Review
    • Expansion
  • Stay current with changes in MBA CSEA (Career Services and Employer Alliance) Standards for reporting both MBA (1 program) and MS (4 programs) data. 
  • Keep apprised of standards for online courses and P/EMBA programs.
  • Sign off on accuracy of all data compiled and reports issued.
  • Prepare detailed documentation in the case of external audit.  Oversee audit process and interface with independent auditors to produce required documentation.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, process maps, code manuals and project plans for all major reporting projects
  • Protect/ensure confidentiality of data per Simon School policies and MBA CSEA guidelines.
  • Develop regular current as well as retrospective, multi-year reports as required for use by faculty, administration or internal CMC staff
  • Prepare monthly CMC dashboard highlighting key metrics
  • Work with Admissions/Marketing on data reported in MBA and MS Viewbooks, Employment reports, Website etc.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on generating final reports
  • Prepare weekly student progress reports for MBA and MS career advisors
  • Prepare weekly ¿Dean¿s Report¿ for Asst. Dean and Executive Director

Technology (30%)

Software/IT Specialist and key/primary contact with vendor(s)

  • Updates and maintains the integrity of student databases (MBA and MS) on an ongoing basis
  • Conduct training sessions for CMC team, approved staff and students on effective use of technology such as Symplicity [our software system that includes student, alumni and employer data bases, interview scheduling, workshop sign-ups and attendance, student advising sessions, document library, data collection, surveys, mentor program, faculty and staff information, and many other features)
  • Increases staff knowledge of, and expertise in, system functionality available for activities with students, employers, faculty and clubs
  • Evaluates new technology and resources for improving staff/student interaction and employment outcomes
  • Serves as liaison between Benet CMC and Greene Center (undergrad) office to facilitate students in both platforms (Symplicity and Handshake)
  • Responds to student inquiries within Symplicity
  • Consults with user groups to assess data preparation and management needs, program design and testing.
  • Is primary contact for outside vendors looking to integrate into our SSO environment, provides consultation support on installed system support and related programs
  • Evaluates and modifies existing programs relative to changes in system requirements or equipment configurations

Other Assigned duties (10%)

  • Work on additional projects throughout the year
  • Recommendations for CMC improvements as available
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor¿s degree or MS, 1-3 years of experience in statistical analysis, data base management and CRM; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Extensive knowledge of MBA-CSEA reporting standards for MBA and Specialty Masters programs
  • Knowledge of internal systems (Admissions, Registrar, Alumni etc.) (Symplicity/Handshake)

Pay Range

Pay Range: $51,810 - $72,534 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job¿s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
