Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Department: Partnerships & Events (MarCom Division)

Reports to: Director of Partnerships & Events

SUMMARY:

It is the primary responsibility of the Partnership Development Manager (PDM) to generate revenue for Visit KC through new partner acquisition, current partner renewals and upgrades and to deliver profitable marketing opportunities. The PDM is accountable for cultivating strong relationships with all partners while supporting organizational initiatives that support and enhance Visit KC partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and retains new and existing membership sales, including retaining renewals for over 800 member accounts and potential upgrade of membership tier levels.
  • Manages and drives digital advertising sales, Visit KC publication ad sales and related partnership marketing opportunities.
  • Executes and delivers digital advertising orders including generating timelines, collecting creatives, executing insertion orders and collecting reports.
  • Develops and executes strategies, programs and special events to effectively communicate the benefits of the Visit KC partnership.
  • Manages messaging calendar for partner emails, partner webpage and direct mail pieces to communicate events, renewal periods, benefits education, etc.
  • Participates in community and industry meetings and activities to foster partnership acquisition, services and retention.
  • Actively expands base of qualified prospects through new business development and strategic partners, including meeting in person, via email correspondence, video teleconferences and calling prospective partners.
  • Assesses partner benefits package to determine best practices, levels and benefits of partnership.
  • Oversees ongoing and proactive management of partnership satisfaction, including facilitating daily requests from all partner accounts.
  • Actively prospects and manages Media Partner (marketing cooperative program) accounts through executing VisitKC.com advertising orders, ongoing weekly management of relationships, facilitation and education on guaranteed regional, out-of-market and local paid media cooperative inclusions.
  • Works closely with the MarCom team on partner communication strategies and management and directly collaborates with MarCom on annual and ongoing VKC marketing cooperative program.
  • Records all prospect and partner communication in Visit KC's iDSS CRM by Tempest platform.
  • Proactively communicates and advises Visit KC Director of Partnerships & Events regarding any potential service issues or concerns.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong self-starting initiative and focused work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility and agility to adapt to changing and emergent business requirements and objectives.
  • A desire to learn and grow.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, database management programs and ability to learn new software programs as directed.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel based on client and office demands. Must possess a valid driver

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field and minimum of 1 year of related experience in consultive services, sales and/or a relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
