Job Description

 PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Coordinator III creates graphics and multimedia for professional development and instruction, assists faculty and staff in the use of various software programs, and assists faculty with D2L by Brightspace. He or She maintains the Teaching and Learning Center(TLC) website and intranet site, provides technical support, facilitates staff professional development sessions, and facilitates and tracks the check-out of instructional materials from the TLC.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan and design a variety of print and non-print materials and layouts for advertisements for professional development and instruction
  • Plan and design multimedia presentations for professional development and instruction
  • Use multiple tools and methods to create options for customer selection, including color, type, illustration, photography, and various print and layout techniques
  • Assist faculty and staff in the use of various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Softchalk
  • Assist faculty with use of D2L by Brightspace
  • Maintain Journal Entries
  • Maintain the Teaching and Learning Center website by using OpenText website management editor to ensure that all information posted is up to date
  • Manage the Teaching and Learning Center intranet sites. Use SharePoint to update the TLC intranet site with announcements, add session documents, post session announcements, update the Calendar of events, and add additional content when asked to do so
  • Create the Week at a Glance document each week to advertise all of the upcoming professional development opportunities
  • Provide technical training and support on how to use the LSC-CyFair intranet and how to use SharePoint; Work with people seeking help on an individual basis and offer sessions on how to use SharePoint
  • Provide technical support; Help out anyone who stops by the Teaching and Learning Center looking for help with their work
  • Track and report all instructional material check-out data
  • Create the TLC Weekly Flyer to be posted around campus and the new faculty newsletter
  • Create faculty suite signs. Update the signs that are on the front of every faculty suite with picture/name/title/and office number of each faculty member at the beginning of each semester
  • Support the implementation of department events including helping set up event spaces
  • Responsible for other related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:  

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $21.18
