 Generator Sales Engineer
Queens/Brooklyn Territory

Pay:Base Salary up to $100,000/yr. (depending on relevant experience) + Uncapped commission potential

Key qualifications:

  • 3+ years of previous direct business to business sales experience required, preferably in an industrial-type market
  • Experience working in a power-related field (generators) is preferred (will consider experience or an equivalent related education-experience combination)
  • Must have industrial/construction industry experience working with general contractors, electrical contractors, or mechanical contractors
  • PC Proficient (including high proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office and other software)
  • Proficiency with CRM systems to track all sales contacts, meetings, opportunities, proposals, and orders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Clean & valid driver's license required (this is an outside sales position)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Generator Sales Manager, the Generator Sales Engineer position is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Successfully sell H.O. Penn Generator products and services
  • Directly sell to end users and contractors
  • Influence all stakeholders to specify/apply the use of H.O. Penn Generator products, related equipment & services
  • Provide reports on sales activity and coverage
  • Seek new applications for existing products
  • Seek new products for existing and new markets
  • Seek and coordinate customer opportunities for all H.O. Penn products and services
  • Coordinate between customers associated with H.O. Penn support departments and Power Systems Management to ensure successful generator installations
  • Submit project worksheets and all required paperwork completely and in a timely fashion
  • Assist Credit Dept. with collecting all past-due invoices and follow-up on collections
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure responses to customers’ inquiries
  • Follow CAT’s procedures to obtain product pricing, Special Rating requests, & technical info

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Hand coordination (typing and writing)
  • Frequent walking and potential need for climbing
  • Occasional forward bending and reaching
  • Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
