Job Description and Requirements

We are currently seeking an Enterprise Risk Management Lead Financial Risk Analyst to join our growing team. This will be a work from home position. All applicants must reside within the State of Texas and have the capability of performing all of the work from their home in Texas.

The Enterprise Risk Management Lead Financial Risk Analyst will support the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team by executing key activities such as risk identification, risk analysis, risk measurement, risk monitoring and risk reporting for model risk, credit risk, market/interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and/or other risks that may financially impact the credit union. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Review, assess, and effective challenge of interest rate/market risk management strategies including hedging activities; actively monitor interest rate/market risk metrics.
  • Review, assess, and effective challenge of capital planning activities including evaluation of adherence to capital planning requirements particularly as a Tier III status; actively monitor capital metrics.
  • Review, assess, and effective challenge of liquidity risk management including on-going assessment of contingency funding plans including reliance on non-core funding sources; actively monitor liquidity risk metrics.
  • Review, assess, and effective challenge of the investment portfolio and PBO management including counter party credit risk; actively monitor investment & PBO metrics.
  • Review, assess, and effective challenge of the credit portfolio, credit strategies, and key initiatives; actively monitor credit risk metrics.
  • Manage Model Risk Management Program with key activities that include maintenance of an accurate model and tool inventory, model risk management training and awareness, timely coordination of model validations, management of issues resulting from validations including issue validations for closure, and collaboration with model owners as needed for supporting model documentation. 
  • Manage financial issues according to ERM Issue Management and report to applicable committee(s).
  • On-going balance sheet/income statement reviews for emerging risks.
  • Review and critical/significant vendors for financial risk exposure to the credit union.
  • Review, assess, and effective challenge of new products/services, significantly modified products/services, or large strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of financial risk such as liquidity risk management, credit risk management, interest rate/market risk management, asset/liability management within financial services
  • Model risk management experience such as managing model inventory, on-going monitoring/validations, and/or maintaining model issues
  • Report development for management/committee audiences to effectively communicate shifts in financial risk exposure within financial services
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and think outside the box

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics, or Economics
