Become a Data Analytics, Senior Advisor - Legal Operations at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will lead, facilitate, and provide management oversight of various operational and data analytic activities in the Legal Organization including support for rate case filing (GRC and FERC), perform complex data analysis, testimony drafting, responding to data requests, witness preparation, development of multi-year operating plan, variance report analysis, and management presentations.
Key focus of role:
- Regulatory Filings: Leadership and oversight of activities related to regulatory filings specifically, General and FERC Rate Cases – testimony drafting, data analysis, responding to data requests, and witness preparations.
- Operating Plans & Workforce Planning: Development of multi-year Operating Plans as well as workforce planning for the Legal Organization including oversight of variance/trend analysis and preparation of management presentations on quarterly outlook to keep management apprised of any deviations to target objectives.
- Legal Organization Initiatives: Provide project management oversight and management presentation of other initiatives in the Legal Organization including wildfire, labor and commercial settlements, operational excellence, outside counsel rate review, compliance related reports such as GO77, FERC Form 1, and 1099, contingency reserves and ensure consistency of data between Law’s matter management system with SAP through reconciliation
- Reports Management: Conducts analyses and oversees the preparation of reports that provide operational and technical support to business operations
- Project Management: Manages multiple complex projects simultaneously, with focus on high-priority tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities
- Performs the most complex data analysis from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, APIs, or data warehouses and ensure data integrity by cleaning and preprocessing it to remove errors, inconsistencies, or missing values that could affect the accuracy of analysis
- Use statistical and analytical techniques to explore and examine data; apply various methods like descriptive statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, relationships, and trends within the data
- Transform complex data into visual representations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards; visualizations provide a clear and concise way to present insights and findings to stakeholders, enabling them to understand the information easily and make data-driven decisions
- Create reports and summaries that effectively communicate their analysis and findings to non-technical audiences; reports often include key metrics, data visualizations, and actionable recommendations that help stakeholders understand the implications of the data and make informed decisions
- Derive actionable insights from the data analysis process by interpreting the results and understanding the business context, data analysts provide valuable insights that drive strategic decision-making, optimize processes, improve performance, and identify opportunities for growth
- Continually monitor data quality, track performance metrics, and analyze new data to ensure that insights remain relevant and accurate over time
- Evaluate and improve data analytics methodologies and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders from different departments. Collaborate to define analytical objectives, align data analysis with business needs, and communicate insights effectively
- Mentor and guide other data analyst
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
• Ten or more years of experience performing data analysis.
• Experience using a variety of data tools and software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Economics, Data Engineering, Legal, or related major.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting.
- Experience and extensive skills in Data Analytics.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in the field of analysis (i.e., business, project, finance and/ or operational analysis).
- Experience in Data Analysis, especially large data sets, hands-on with data transformation, aggregation, filtering etc.
- Experience and proficiency with SAP (particularly the HCM and/or SCM modules), Success Factors, Fieldglass, Power BI.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Experience and proficiency using Excel functions such as pivot tables and macros.
- Experience with project management tools and methods to manage single and multiple projects of moderate to high complexity, gather information, monitor and report project status, and coordinate activities to ensure timely delivery.
- Experience in Project Support or Project Management.
- Experience in Program Management, Business Development, Business Transformation, and/or Process Improvement methodologies.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
