The Summer Intern session is a 12-week, full-time (40 hours Monday-Friday) program while the Co-op cohorts typically run 16-weeks in the Spring and Fall. In both programs, students are paid a competitive hourly rate. Continue reading to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
What you'll do
- Assist with monthly financial close activities.
- Help ensure accuracy and reliability of general ledger/trial balance.
- Analyze costs against prior periods, plan and latest forecast.
- Prepare reports for monthly financial results.
- Support the documentation of controls, processes and ensure SOX compliance.
- Assist with and ensure successful quarterly and year end audits.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analyses and assist team with research on cost accounting questions and assist with special projects, as requested.
What you'll need
- Pursuing a 4-year college degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
- Understanding of fundamental cost accounting theories and concepts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
- Demonstrates an interest in learning inner workings of accounting process and systems.
- Experienced Microsoft Excel user, proficient with functions, pivot tables and data analysis.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
Our Environment
- Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
