Job Summary

Instruct justice-involved students in technical training to prepare them to re-enter the job market in the building construction field through lecture, demonstrations, and/or audio-visual aids. Responsible for individualized instruction in all phases of the Building Construction Technology program using the prescribed curriculum while ensuring efficient and safe delivery of instruction to students. Prepare and/or revise syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans. Administer assessments to evaluate student progress. Maintain student academic records and submit reports related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.). Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current in the building construction industry. In addition, the ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who is willing to take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty in a changing work environment and whose career objectives include being a member of a dynamic and growing institution that has a vision to expand its services and increase its offerings to the citizens, businesses and industries in its service area.

Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications

High degree of knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Organizational and communication skills.
Networking skills.
Time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to relate and communicate to a diverse faculty, staff and student population.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical Diploma and/or Associates Degree, industry-recognized certifications and/or license in the field or the ability to become certified within the first year of employment, and teaching experience preferred.
