Associate Professor or Professor of Information Technology and Associate Chair

Department of Information Technology

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track Associate Professor or Professor of Information Technology faculty position and Associate Chair of the Department of Information Technology with a preferred start day of January 2025. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in information technology at both undergraduate and graduate levels in various modalities including online hybrid or face-to-face as per department need.
  • Develop and maintain an active and productive individual research agenda.
  • Lead the department research development, including mentoring junior faculty on research and escalating the department research profile.
  • Develop research collaborations with internal units and external institutions.
  • Explore funding opportunities with federal, state, local and industrial stakeholders.
  • Service in the Department, College, University or professional community is expected.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications Include

  • An earned PhD degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a computing discipline, such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data and Information Science, and Computer and/or Electrical Engineering is required. 
  • A well-established research record including intensive funding.
