Job Summary

The Genetic Counselor Services Director will serve as the programmatic and professional resource for genetic counselors throughout UK Healthcare and will work to ensure alignment across all departments.

The Director will provide a combination of direct patient support, direct & indirect supervision of staff, and serve as an advisor for UKHC Leadership on professional, education, business, technical, market and strategic matters pertaining to Genetic Counseling services within UKHC.

The Genetic Counselor Services Director will represent the organization’s mission and demonstrate a commitment to excellence long sustained throughout the institution, by setting the vision and strategy for the key areas of focus incorporated within the role.

The Genetic Counselor Services Director will ensure alignment with the goals and objectives of UK Healthcare medical staff, nursing leaders, and operational leaders.

Additionally, the director will partner with finance, strategy, innovation, digital health strategies, research, philanthropy, compliance, and government relations.

Finally, the Director will serve as a role model for genetic counselors and related inter-professional colleagues, by demonstrating strong operational, business acumen, academic excellence, and effective interpersonal and leadership practices.
