Job Summary
Primary objective of all faculty positions is to create a dynamic teaching and learning environment for our students, while contributing to the college service. Faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses by following the course description and course outline established by the department. In accordance with the Adjunct Faculty collective bargaining agreement (CBA), additional responsibilities may include participation in departmental initiatives, providing evidence of academic achievements, recognition by professional and community organizations, and other duties as assigned. Teaching schedules may include day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities. Applicants must be available for in-person teaching. Candidates who are interested in only fully-online teaching will not be considered.
Qualifications - Education
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in an appropriate discipline required. A doctorate and/or specialized training in a related specific discipline preferred and may be required depending on the subject.
Qualifications - Experience
Prior college or university teaching experience and experience working in the field of study preferred, as is the evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities. Additional job experience may be substituted for a Masters Degree in a selected discipline.
Qualifications - Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of discipline with educational and/or practical competence in one or more of the following areas-Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, or Fire Science. Ability to work with diverse groups of students. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
