Job Description:

The Adjunct of Human Resources Management position provides quality instruction in policy, employee relations, training and development, and much more. The Adjunct maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with significant emphasis placed on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The Adjunct role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair, or other leadership members. The incumbent must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicated material.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Instruction& Student Learning

  • Teaches assigned courses asscheduled.Designs curriculum embracing diversity in all forms to foster talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies with an understanding of the socioculturalissues of traditionally underrepresented groups.
  • Considers individual differences of studentsinordertodesignandsupportarangeofappropriate learningactivities. Participates in the identificationof students withacademic or other needs and responds by utilizing anappropriate resource.Usestechnology ina manner appropriate tothe nature and objectives ofcourses and programs and communicates clearly tostudents theexpectations concerning theuse ofsuch technology.
  • Keeps accurate and appropriate records inaccordance with departmental policies. Maintains attendance records, determines and submits grades in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures of the college, and communicates progress feedback aswell asother relevant information to studentsthroughoutthesemester.
  • Distributesandmaintains accurate syllabi that incorporatedepartmental,college,cross-college,andinstructorrequirements. Conducts classes punctually and inaccordance withtheprescribed meeting schedule.
  • Employs appropriate assessment techniques tomeasure students' performance inachieving course goals and objectives.Engages inperiodic meetings with thedepartment, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties and professional development.

Student Engagement & Advisement

  • Creates apositive classroom atmosphere that encourages activeand collaborativelearning,studenteffort,academicchallenge,studentandfaculty interaction, and support for learners.Uses technology to assist in communication with students.Encourages asense ofcommunity among students for learning both inside and outside theclassroom.
  • Refersstudentstoappropriatestudentandacademicsupportservicesavailableat the College or in the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industry experience

OR

  • business-related master’s degree with required graduate-level coursework above foundational courses in human resources

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience preferred

Compensation Details:

Compensation: $55.88 per contact hour

Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour

Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week
